Last year, Barion, which offers online payment solutions, achieved an increase in sales of nearly 60%
Barion, specializing in data-driven payment solutions, already serves its e-commerce partners in more than 15 countries. In 2023, the Hungarian fintech company achieved a total of 6.8 million euros in sales on domestic and foreign markets, which is almost a rarity in the sector in the current macroeconomic environment. The innovative financial service provider will maintain its momentum in the next business year: in 2024, the focus will be on international expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, including local payment methods and the involvement of local partners, as well as the continuous development of the existing product portfolio. In order to achieve the strategic goals, two real big guns were confirmed in the person of András Hemberger and Milán Gauder, who previously held positions in the top management of MasterCard.
The Hungarian Barion closed last year with a profit of 1.3 million euros and an increase in sales of almost 60%, in addition, their profit after tax increased fourfold, which means that they also made great progress in terms of efficient operation. The mission of the fintech company, founded in 2015, is simple: to build a cashless society with convenient and accessible payment solutions. To this end, in addition to smart online and mobile payment developments, they also offer data-driven tools to their partners so that they can make the best possible business decisions, and in 2019 they even came up with an advertising technology product called Barion Target. The market has appreciated the approach based on continuous innovation and the versatile service portfolio – Barion now serves more than 17,000 e-retailers and 500,000 users in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary, among others, while it is already winking at new markets .
