GLS Hungary is installing nearly 40 new parcel machines at the stations of the MÁV-VOLÁN group
Thanks to the cooperation between GLS Hungary and the MÁV-VOLÁN group, the collection and delivery of packages is becoming easier for those traveling by public transport. As part of the agreement, GLS Vending Machines will be installed at 37 busy locations – railway, Volánbüz and HÉV stations.
In recent years, the demand for convenient package delivery services has grown rapidly. In order to meet these needs, the MÁV-VOLÁN group issued a nationwide tender for the installation and operation of parcel machines at the end of last year. The tender was successfully concluded at the beginning of the year, GLS Hungary submitted the most favorable offer.
GLS will install parcel machines at a total of 37 busy stations this year. With this solution, the package logistics service provider wants to favor travelers who choose public transport, who do not have the opportunity to arrange their package delivery during working hours or to wait for the courier at home. Thanks to the new machines, it will now be easy to send and receive parcels at many locations on the way to work or on the way home.
The devices can already be used at eight railway stations (Hajdúszoboszló, Kisvárda, Püspökladány, Pécs, Siófok, Keszthely, Sárvár, Szeged), as well as at five HÉV stations and stops included in the program (Gödöllő, Palotakert; Mátyásföld, Imre utca; Ráckeve, Tököl, Szentendre) . The installation work is currently underway, and soon the machines will be installed at the remaining 24 locations, including at busy junctions such as the Southern, Western and Keleti railway stations, the Székesfehérvár railway station, and the Volánbusz station in Gödöllő and Pécs. As part of the cooperation, automatic machines will be put into operation at a total of 26 railway, 6 Volánbus and 5 HÉV stations.
