German retail decreased by nearly 1 percent
On a monthly level, German retail sales decreased greater-than-expected in June. The experts expected a 0.2 percent decline, instead of the 0.9 percent decline.
Compared to last June, sales increased by 3.1 percent: food, beverages and tobacco sales by 1.0 percent, sales of food related products by 5.1 percent. The published datas do not include the car and fuel sales.
The analysts' expected a 1.9 percent expansion. In Germany, household consumption gives more than half of the German GDP – reports Világgazdaság Online.
