It is mandatory to indicate the prices in forint, even if the guest can also pay in euros
There are more and more service providers and restaurants where prices are listed in euros. However, according to the National Trade Association, in Hungary, a service provider registered in Hungary must also display the prices in forints.
The Consumer Protection Act states that the price of the products purchased there must be indicated in HUF, be it a hairdresser, grocery store, department store, or restaurant. This does not rule out the possibility that it will also be listed in euros
György Vámos, secretary general of the organization, told Blikk.
