Taste Lake Balaton – start with seaweed!
The Balatorium Ecological x Cultural Week begins on August 19 at Lake Balaton with a series of gastronomic events with an ecological approach. The so-called Balatorium Menu comes with Hínáros Lángos, algae ice porridge and boiled snacks for people.

Famous local restaurateurs joined his initiative
Well-known local caterers have joined the initiative of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture (VEB2023 EKF) program and the PAD Foundation, and in cooperation with the Szabotonbalaton team, they are preparing special food and drink tastings that illustrate the ecological challenges of the Balaton region and are also delicious! On August 25, an open day will be held at the Balaton Limnological Research Institute and the Tihany artist colony of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. On August 26th and 27th, workshops, lectures, landscape tours and art activities will draw attention to the fragile living system of Lake Balaton on the free beach in Örvényes.
