Most women-friendly employer in the Middle East
Reinforcing its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Henkel MEA has won the Most Women-Friendly Employer in Middle East award at the 5th Annual Women in Leadership [WIL] Forum Middle East and Africa, held end of May in Dubai.
The award honoured Henkel MEA for its contribution to support women’s empowerment and its role in developing their skills through several growth opportunities. Henkel was also the Silver Sponsor of the Forum. Carol Milan, General Manager Laundry & Home Care of Henkel Lebanon, was part of the discussion panel which focused on ‘Turning Ethics into Economics – Making Diversity and Inclusion Profitable’.
The WIL Forum shed light on the achievements of women‘s empowerment, success and leadership in workplace, marketplace and community. More than 300 influential businesswomen and entrepreneurs interested in diversity and inclusion participated in the forum.
Carol Milan said: “We are convinced that diverse teams deliver better results and offer competitive advantages, and we actively manage diversity at Henkel – in terms of nationality, gender and seniority. Globally, around 31 per cent of our managers are women, a share which we have steadily improved over the past years.”
Gender diversity is one of the reasons behind Henkel MEA’s support to the WIL Forum. Henkel MEA is active in the Diversity & Inclusion topics, including holding the regional leaders accountable by setting targets and action plans to increase the percentage of women at all levels throughout the region; create a community of Diversity & Inclusion Ambassadors to increase awareness and internal word of mouth; organizing Diversity Awareness Day and encouraging role models and leaders to share their insights and experience on the Diversity & Inclusion website.
Marwa Mohammed and Narjess BenAmar, MEA Diversity Ambassadors, who received the award, commented: “It is a matter of extreme pride for all of us at Henkel MEA to be honoured with this award. This award is a testimony of the success of our initiative at Henkel in MEA which is completely aligned with our global strategy on diversity and inclusion.”
