Coronavirus: Rationing rule proves effective, says Aldi
Aldi has implemented new protective measures in stores to prevent the transmission of coronavirus amid the pandemic.
Aldi has also installed perspex screens at checkouts to keep its colleagues and customers protected from Covid-19 transmission.
Furthermore, Aldi is limiting the number of people in stores at any one time where necessary, and is implementing a queuing system outside of stores as well.
It will now operate on reduced working hours so that staff will have enough time to restock.
The grocer is continuing to encourage customers to use Apple Pay, Android Pay or contactless card rather than cash.
As a result, it will be increasing its contactless card limit to £45 from April 6.
On Tuesday, Aldi said it has increased its colleagues’ salary by 10 per cent in a bid to thank them.
