Weerts Logistics Park (WLP), with a Belgian-Hungarian ownership background, handed over an almost 40,000 square meter sustainable production hall in Vecsés to the Canadian Magna International, one of the world’s largest auto parts suppliers.

According to Weerts Logistics, the cost of the investment was more than 57 million euros, to which is added Magna’s investment in production equipment. The production hall remains Weerts’ property, Magna leases it long-term.

Among outstanding sustainability solutions, WLP mentioned, for example, the recycling of rainwater and the use of energy-efficient systems. The waste heat from the facility’s machines is integrated into the heating system, and a solar panel system is being installed on the entire surface of the roof, thus ensuring a full supply of green energy for the operation. The company checks with continuous environmental protection monitoring that the operation of the plant does not cause environmental damage, they said.

The WLP indicated that special attention is being paid to establishing good neighborly relations with the local community and taking into account the needs of the population. To this end, as a noise reduction measure, a humus hill was built and planted with trees and shrubs; this natural solution is not only more effective than traditional soundproof walls, but also contributes to the maintenance of biodiversity.

The company explained: the location of the factory is particularly advantageous from a strategic point of view, it has a direct connection to the M0, M3, M4 and M5 highways, and the proximity of Ferenc Liszt International Airport is an additional logistical advantage. In addition, it is easily accessible from Vecsés, Gyál and Budapest XVIII. district, which facilitates labor recruitment from these areas. The new factory creates jobs in and around Vecsés and contributes to the economic growth of the region. Serial production of the first parts is expected to start at the end of 2025.

The WLP development group develops its halls in Vecsés for medium and large companies. Over the past 6 years, it has built around 200,000 square meters of buildings, created 905 jobs and hosted many domestic companies.
