Government spokesperson: the mandatory promotions in stores will start on June 1
On June 1, the mandatory promotions in stores will start, which means that people will be able to buy food much cheaper in twenty product categories, said the government spokesman in the video published on his social media page.
According to Alexandra Szentkirályi, the mandatory promotions are necessary because the war and the failed sanctions in Brussels have raised prices, which has had a ripple effect on food prices as well.
He emphasized, however, that the government is fighting this with several measures: with price caps, and on June 1st, the mandatory promotions will start.
