The Hungarian melon season at ALDI started earlier and will continue this year
ALDI Hungary provides Hungarian producers with even more sales opportunities. This year, he started offering Hungarian melons in his stores about two weeks earlier than usual. Cantaloupes will arrive in the store chain’s warehouse from Hungarian sources as early as June 12, and in the case of watermelons, Hungarian producers will start delivering them to ALDI from June 21. This year, customers can choose from the Hungarian offer of three production areas – Békés, Tolna and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties – until mid-September if the weather is favorable.
Thanks to the weather, melons in Hungary started to ripen earlier, so the Hungarian melon season at ALDI started two weeks earlier than usual. Hungarian cantaloupes have been arriving at the company’s central warehouse since June 12, and from June 21, watermelons will be supplied exclusively by domestic producers to ALDI. Thanks to the continuous updating of the existing store stocks, ALDI will serve the needs of domestic consumers exclusively with Hungarian melons within days. With this step, the proportion of vegetables and fruits from domestic sources in the stores of the discount chain will continue to rise.
This year, ALDI is waiting for melon lovers with a diverse range of products that are most sought after by domestic consumers, as it sells two types of yellow and two types of watermelon. Among the cantaloupes, you can find the classic CANTALOUPE with orange flesh, which is intended for lovers of traditional flavors, as well as the popular GÁLIA with white flesh, which will also be available 2-3 weeks earlier than usual, in the last week of June instead of mid-July. Watermelon lovers can also choose from two variations: the most popular is still the traditional watermelon with a dark green skin and red flesh, in addition to which the seedless version will also be available in ALDI stores.
