Increase in sales concentration, more self-service products sold
In last March-April ham sales valued at HUF 7 billion – value sales were up 2 percent and volume sales augmented by 3 percent. Cooked ham realised 92 percent of sales. The average price was HUF 1,343 per kilogram, 12 percent more than in the previous year. Stores with a floor space above 400m² realised 76 percent of sales – 1 percentage point more than a year earlier. Modern store types have strong positions in ham sales and the value shares of self-service products were 57 percent and 59 percent, respectively, in the last two Easter periods.
