Retail area grow, the stores stand behinde chains
According to Nielsen research to market share of hyper- and supermarkets and discounts increased in H1. Hypermarkets has 30%, supermarkets 11%, discounts 19% from whole retail sales.
The biggest growth has the supermarket
category, it increased by 15% on y/y basis. The growth of discounts
market share was 10, hypermarkets 9%, domestic retail chain 4%.
The researched 90 categories have 7%
increased in Janury-July periode on y/y basis.
The number of stores drop, it is now
700 less unit as before, but in the modern retail chanels the retail
area is year to year bigger. On 31 December 2005 it was 2.5 million
sqm, last year it was 2.8 million sqm.
