Serious tourism development in Hortobágy
The Hortobágy “bird theater” investment can begin after the project’s support contract was signed: the consortium led by the Hajdú-Bihar local government has won more than 4.3 billion forints of European Union support for active tourism development within the framework of the Regional and Settlement Development Operative Program Plus (TOP-PLUSZ) – the county government told MTI.
In their statement, they wrote that the project is being implemented as part of a consortium cooperation as an application submitted to the call titled “Development of Active Tourism”, the consortium leader is the Hajdú-Bihar County Government, and the members are the Hortobágy National Park, the Aktív Magyarország Development Center Nonprofit Kft., and the Ministry of Construction and Transport. The signed and effective support contract ensures that the partners can work together to increase the county’s active tourism attractiveness – they indicated.
Zoltán Pajna (Fidesz-KDNP), the chairman of the Hajdú-Bihar general assembly, highlighted:
The project will offer visitors unique experiences that will further strengthen the county’s position on the domestic and international tourism map. “We are particularly excited about the development of the bird theater and the related infrastructure, which will make the region a unique attraction,”
– emphasized the chairman of the general assembly.
He added that the idea for the “bird theater” project, which aims to showcase the natural values of Hortobágy, was conceived years ago by nature photographer Bence Máté, the Aktív Magyarország Fejlesztési Központ Nonprofit Kft. and the Hortobágy National Park Directorate.
