As the autumn-winter virus season approaches, the situation can only worsen, as demand for antibiotic syrups, asthma drugs containing salbutamol, and drugs for treating ADHD and other mental illnesses may increase dramatically.

Imports are being used to alleviate the situation

The growing demand is increasingly being met by foreign imports, which in turn could lead to shortages in other European countries. According to experts, pharmacies across the continent must prepare for a shortage of supplies.

The price of addiction

While Germany used to be the world’s pharmacy, the focus of production has now shifted to China and India. But this poses a serious risk: if production problems arise in these countries, it will have an immediate impact on European supplies.
