Lidl’s wines have received serious recognition
Lidl Hungary’s recent Champion and gold awards, which also recognize the company’s innovations and aspirations, prove its commitment to Hungarian wine culture and the domestic wine industry.
The efforts of the market-leading discount chain were this time rewarded with prestigious prizes at the 2023 international VinAgora Wine Competition, where the strict jury tasted more than 900 samples from 15 countries and selected the best. VinAgora is Hungary’s only international wine competition, which is a member of VINOFED, the world organization that brings together competitions representing the strictest professional level, and many other factors ensure the authenticity of each VinAgora medal placed on a bottle.
As a result of years of excellent cooperation between the company and the Grand Tokaj winery, the Lidl 5 Puttonyos Tokaji Aszú wine won the highest Champion award at the competition, while the supermarket chain’s own brand Tolnai Chardonnay wine, its own blend Dereszla Oak Selection Furmint dry white wine, and the Dereszla Brut champagne was awarded a gold medal. All of the winning wines are available exclusively in Lidl Magyarország stores.
“It gives us great pleasure that our high-quality wines have received prestigious recognition for the second time this year, which proves that our joint cooperation with domestic wineries is successful and effective in an international context as well”
– said Judit Tőssér, the company’s communications manager, regarding the prizes won at the VinAgora Wine Competition.
