Anuga in Cologne: Health, well-being and safety are the key words
Anuga, the world's largest food trade fair this year has opened its gates on Saturday in Cologne. Until Wednesday, more than 6,600 exhibitors from 100 countries, including 31 Hungarian companies are going to present their offerings. Organizers are expecting 150 thousand visitors from 170 countries during the five days of the event, based on preliminary inquiry.
Besides German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, Francesco Saverio Romano, the Agriculture, Food and Forestry Minister of this year's partner country Italy has opened the event on Saturday, in the morning. This year, Italian food production is represented by a record number of exhibitors, namely 1057 Italian companies are present at the event
“Let's get a taste of the future” is the title of the exhibition of goods this year. Eleven groups of food products will be available to view for everyone. A total of 579 square meters are open to Hungarian exhibitors, and the greatest emphasis lies on meat products, frozen foods and general food halls – Márta Kakuk, Hungarian representative of Köln Messe pointed out. – This year, Hungarian companies are taking part in the event without state support, meaning that they have to pay for their own expenses.
