Online cash registers to become mandatory in new sectors
Hungary’s government is preparing to introduce electronic invoicing and online cash register use for service providers such as car repair, taxis, gyms, wellness salons and currency exchange – Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga announced at a conference on fighting VAT fraud in the region, organised by PwC in Budapest. He added that the mandatory use of online cash registers already generated lots of extra revenue for the state budget, just like the Electronic Trade and Transport Control System (EKÁER).
