Consumer sentiment in the United States improved slightly in May
Consumer sentiment in the U.S. improved slightly in May from the previous month’s eight-year low, but a survey of the University of Michigan continues to show deep consumer concern.
Analysts expected a larger improvement in the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index in May. The value of the indicator rose to 72.3 points from the expected eight-year low of 71.8 points in the previous month, instead of the expected 74.0 points. (MTI)
