GLS has put its 2,500th parcel locker into operation in Kisköre
GLS has put its 2,500th parcel machine into operation in Kisköre, with which the company now provides flexible parcel management solutions in 740 settlements with more than 3,500 delivery points – the company told MTI.
GLS emphasized that it is consciously and dynamically expanding its network in Hungary, and an important milestone in this process is the 2,500th parcel machine put into operation in Kisköre, which is also the first GLS machine in the Heves County settlement.
Attila Balázs, Managing Director of GLS Hungary, emphasized that it is of symbolic significance for them that the 2,500th GLS machine was put into operation in Kisköre, because this also shows that special attention is being paid to smaller settlements during the network expansion. The company’s goal is to achieve nationwide coverage with modern and flexible parcel logistics solutions, he added.
GLS machines are currently operating in 570 settlements in Hungary, and including parcel points, the company’s network already covers more than 740 settlements.
The range of Expressz machines has also expanded. The company launched its new solution, GLS Automata Expressz, in the summer, which allows parcels addressed to parcel machines to arrive the next morning at the latest. The service debuted at the machines in the capital, and following the successful launch, it became available in five settlements in the southern agglomeration – Halásztelk, Ráckeve, Szigethalm, Szigetszentmiklós and Tököl. Since its launch, the service has been operating at around 90 new machines, the special feature of which is that packages sent from anywhere in the country will be delivered the next morning at the latest, if the machine marked as the destination is part of the express network.
The sales revenue of GLS General Logistics Systems Hungary Csomag-Logisztikai Kft. was 87.361 billion forints in 2024, and 79.699 billion forints a year earlier. The company closed with a profit of 19.702 billion forints in 2024, while its after-tax profit was 19.624 billion forints in 2023.
