Retail trade: the emerging markets to increase, Budapest improved 14 places
According to the research of CB Richard Ellis' named “How much the retail is global?”; the emerging markets are attracting a growing number of international retailers and global retailers and willing to rule the traditional retail centers.
The annual report indicates that significant changes occured in the global rankings compared to previous year: Beijing, Shanghai and Moscow improved some places and three Middle East cities; Riyadh, Jeddah and Kuwait improved 11 places jumping into the Top 20 cities.
Especially the penetration of the Middle East cities is spectacular: the Saudi capital, Riyadh jumped from the 25th place to the 14th, Jeddah of Saudi Arabia (from 26th to the 15th) and Kuwait (from 28th to the 17th).
The Hungarian capital is 61st on this year's list. Budapest improved 14 places since last year and currently overtakes cities like St. Petersburg, Zurich, Bucharest, or Stockholm – reports Portfolio.hu.
