Many difficulties for pig farmers
This is particularly true for pig farmers, which have also been affected by swine fever, an oversupply in the EU and a coronavirus pandemic. However, the situation is not so drastic for cattle. Although results in the sector were volatile, the balance sheet tipped in a positive direction overall. Beef exports fell by 9 percent, but rose by 5 percent, while imports fell by 19 percent and rose by almost 3 percent. And in the lamb market, prices rose to historic highs last year.
