Demand turning to fondant candy in small packaging unit
Fondant candy sales declined: in the period between last November and January 2010 nearly 3,000 tons were sold, 14 percent less than in the same period a year earlier. Nielsen registered minus 13 percent in terms of value. The market still surpasses HUF 3 billion. Our major source of fondant candy is hypermarkets: they realised 60 percent of sales. Private labels had a 34-percent market share last December. As for packaging units, the 0-400 gram segment had an 87-percent market share in value.
