At the meeting, István Nagy drew attention to the fact that agriculture employs 65 percent of the population in Kyrgyzstan, which is why agriculture is very important for both countries. The Central Asian country is in great need of Hungarian knowledge, specialists and the application of technologies. Our country is also an important partner for Kyrgyzstan in terms of seeds, breeding animals and knowledge transfer. The Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund can play an important role in implementing developments – he added.
The minister also mentioned that the two countries should further strengthen research and educational cooperation
In this process, the exchange of professionals and students, who can share the most modern knowledge and technological innovations with each other, is very important, from which agriculture can also benefit. More and more students from Kyrgyzstan are taking advantage of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship and the opportunities offered by dual agricultural training in Hungary. István Nagy called it gratifying that, after the meeting in Bishkek in November, the third Hungarian-Kyrgyz Agricultural Forum will take place here in Budapest, which can further strengthen the relationship between our companies.
