The company founded by the Hungarian 77 Elektronika Group started production in China
The 100% domestically owned 77 Elektronika Group, which develops and manufactures medical electronics products, made the first Hungarian investment in the machinery industry in China. In the future, the high-tech company will manufacture LabUMat and UriSed automatic urine testing equipment for the Chinese market in its plant, which was founded as part of an investment of nearly 2 million dollars. In the company named 77 Medical Devices (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., the goal is to produce 300 large-scale labs in the first year, but this may increase to 1,000 units within a few years.
The Hungarian, family-owned 77 Elektronika company group has a relationship with China for more than 20 years: they have sold automatic laboratory devices for the evaluation of urine in the Far Eastern country. However, with the current step, they have taken it to a new level and – as the Chinese government prefers the procurement of local medical equipment for hospitals there – they have built a production plant near Shanghai, one of the most modern and advanced industrial centers of China.
The goal is to expand the Chinese market
“We took this step in order to maintain our competitiveness, as we are a Chinese company, but we sell labs with our own brand name and 77 logos in one of the largest and most populous countries in the world. Serial production already started on October 8”
– Sándor Zettwitz, the owner-manager of the 77 Elektronika Group, explains the reasons for establishing the company.
77 Medical Devices (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., which is the sole property of 77 Elektonika Group, currently operates in an industrial area of more than 1000 m2, which includes production, storage, office and other service areas. The company is managed by Richárd Mohr, a Hungarian executive who knows China well and speaks the language, and the other employees are Chinese.
