China is preparing to exempt certain US agricultural products from additional duties
China is preparing to exempt a certain amount of US soybeans and pork from surcharges imposed during the trade war between the two countries – the Xinhua State News Agency said in a statement released on Friday by the Beijing government’s Customs Committee.
The committee is working to determine, on the basis of an application submitted by Chinese companies, which products are to be exempted from the payment of the additional duties and for what quantities. In July 2018, China introduced a 25 percent surcharge on US soybeans and pork in response to the US imposition of duties on certain Chinese commodities. (MTI)
