US Import Duties – China halves additional duty on certain US products
China will cut customs duties on certain US products by half – the Chinese state news agency sannounced in a statement Thursday.
The measure, which will take effect on February 14, will apply to 75 billion USD worth US commodities, which have been subject to 5 and 10 percent criminal duties as of September 1, 2019, as a countermeasure to Washington’s surcharges on Chinese goods. The 10 percent tariff on 916 products, including soybeans, pork and fish, is reduced to 5 percent, while the 8 percent tariff on 801 different commodities, including auto parts, is reduced to 2.5 percent.
