The purchase of apples will start from 11 HUF per kilogram
Agrana Juice Hungary Ltd. owning the majority of the market, started the purchasing of apple in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. The Austrian company pays 11 HUF (4 eurocents) for the fruit to the farmers.
The company plans to take over and process 200-220 thousand tons of apples from its 3500 contract partners. According to Szigeti Zoltán, Chief Executive Officer; last year 9 cents was the price of the compromise, but since then, the price of the apple puree decreased to 600 from 900 euros per tonne in the world market after in last year, significant quantities of cheap Chinese puree was concentrated in the European markets – reports MTI.
