Euro area inflation at its nine-month highs
Euro area inflation rose to a nine-month high in January, according to a report released on Friday by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office.
In the euro area, inflation rose to 1.4 percent in January, the highest since April last year, from the 1.3 percent in December, and to 1.7 percent in the European Union, from 1.6 percent. One year ago, in January 2019, inflation was 1.4 percent in the euro area and 1.5 percent in the EU. (MTI)
