Since nine years there was not so many empty shops downtown, like in the 2008
According to the mid-year survey of Ecorys Hungary international consultant company; the downtown business market faces the highest vacancy of the past 9 years.
This year, 16.8 percent of the shops of Andrássy Avenue were vacant (17.6 percent last year), in the Váci street it was 5.2 percent (6.3 percent last year) were left blank in this case. Over the past two and a half years, a significant change occured to the downtown retail market. The old Vaci street and Andrassy út axis, together with the Fashion Street and with Vörösmarty 1, further strengthened, while the new Váci street and Nagykörút is not able to keep pace with the changing market conditions.
Therefore, in this case, two streets in the 2008-the peak is somewhat reduced compared to the number of unused shops.
