We have seen (and shown) many extreme vending machines, but the freshly baked bakery vending machine still came as a surprise. The machines installed in Aldi Süd stores have been criticized by the German Bakers’ Association: they called it misleading advertising that the machines dispense the products freshly baked – they, on the other hand, consider freshly baked bread a national pride. Aldi Süd defended itself by referring to a special heat treatment method. Customers said that the products taste quite good for the price and are always hot enough.
