The campaign against online abuse of children ended with outstanding success
The joint campaign of the Betadine® solution and the Hintalovon Children’s Rights Foundation ended with great success, drawing attention to the online safety of children, the invisible dangers inherent in the digital space, and the importance of parental awareness in this regard. As a result of the cooperation in May, the Betadine® solution gave the foundation more than HUF 4.5 million.
During the campaign, the Betadine® solution and the Hintalovon Foundation teamed up to draw the attention of as many parents as possible to online dangers lurking for children. Children come into contact with digital devices at an ever younger age, but the use of the Internet can also hide dangers in addition to its opportunities.
“In order for children not to get lost in the online space, they need help, but many times even we, adults, wander in there uncertainly. With our joint campaign with the Betadine® solution, we wanted to provide signposts for this, to draw attention to the fact that although the Internet contains many challenges and dangers, if we are aware of them, we can also help children to recognize and avoid them in case of trouble and ask for help”
– said dr. Dominika Rácz, lawyer at the Hintalovon Children’s Rights Foundation.
The topic of children’s digital safety successfully reached Hungarians: during the press communication of the campaign based on the results of the national, representative research[1], a wide range of media covered this extremely important social topic, which thus potentially addressed nearly 3.4 million people. In addition, leaflets helping to prevent online abuse and adequately manage the problems that arise were found in more than 400 pharmacies and nearly 500 children’s general practitioners across the country – 60,000 copies of the latter reached the target groups.
