Outstanding quality wine yield is expected this year
About 2.8 million hectoliters wine yield is expected in Hungary this year, which is similar to last year’s harvest – Kiss Eliza, Ministerial Commissioner for special oenological tasks at the Ministry of Agriculture told MTI.
Kiss Eliza added: the frost damage, hail and droughts had a negative impact on the volume of grapes, and may also affect the yield of next year. At the same time, however, 2017 can be one of the best vintage of the last period – she said.
In Hungary annual average 2.5-3 million hectoliters of wine is produced each year, and the volume of the new wine will not exceed three million hectoliters this year. (MTI)
