Extrem big Christmas Shopping
December retail sales in Hungary may exceed HUF 900 million, the biggest collective Christmas spending spree for the nation ever.
According to National Retail
Association Secretary György Vámos this year Christmas
shoppers spent approximately HUF 12 billion more than last year.
Disinflationary trends in food and motor fuel prices may have
increased the urge to spend more on Christmas.
Specialist said retailers in Hungary
typically see sales dceline by 30%, with vendors trying to offset the
slow season with price cuts and various special offers.
