The preservation of Hungary’s GMO-free status in agriculture has a great importance . Hungary in every forum firmly and consistently represents to ban the public production of GM crops in Europe – Fazekas Sándor, Minister of Agriculture stressed in an open letter sent to MTI on Wednesday.
Fazekas Sándor responded to the letters of Greenpeace, the Hungarian Society of Conservationists and the Association of Hungarian Bio Culture. The civil society organizations have asked the minister not to support the European cultivation license for three GM maize at the committee meeting of the EU member states on 8 July.
