Magazine: Who likes beer in promotion?

Dreher involved several thousand pubs and bars in their nationwide promotion (which lasts until September): every Friday guests get a pint of Arany Ászok for the price of a glass

• Attila Fehér, Zöld Kancsó beer bar, owner: Zöld Kancsó is situated at the housing estate on Örs Vezér Square and can seat nearly 100 guests. On Arany Ászok Fridays consumption triples. After a while it occurred to me that we sell significantly less spirit on these days – but this is compensated by the increase in the number of guests.
• Márta Rinyu, Kávés Katica, landlord: Kávés Katica is located close to Lehel Square and is capable of welcoming 120 people at the same time. As for beer sales, 70 percent is realised by draught beer and on promotional days this goes up to 90 percent. We do not have more guests on Fridays but we definitely sell more beer.
• Róbert Klemán, Zsuzsi büfé, Sukoró, owner: Zsuzsi is a transition between a beer bar and a village pub. On Fridays we sell twice as much Arany Ászok as on other days. I decided to do the same thing on Saturdays from my own budget – I lose part of my profit but the level of consumption is higher, which is important in my relationship with the distributor.
• Margó Kovács, Blaha beer bar, landlord: Blaha beer bar seats 75 guests and draught beers make up for 50 percent of beer sales. However, on Fridays draught beers sales skyrocket to 90 percent.
