K&H: the young people have finally crossed the HUF 200,000 mark
The personal income of young people rose to a record level in the second quarter: the monthly net amount exceeded HUF 200,000, according to the K&H youth index, which has been examining the financial situation of 19-29-year-olds since the beginning of 2012. A year earlier, it was HUF 190,000, and five and ten years ago, their monthly income amounted to HUF 124,000 and HUF 74,000, respectively.
The personal income of young people shows an increase both in the short and long term, which includes, in addition to any salary, other incomes, such as support received from parents or the amount from temporary student work – it is clear from the representative research of K&H, which has been mapped every quarter since the end of 2012 , how the financial situation of young people developed, including, for example, their personal income.
The latest results show a step up: in the second quarter of this year, the average amount for those surveyed was HUF 204,000, i.e. it exceeded HUF 200,000 for the first time in the history of the research. In the case of young people with an income – who make up nearly 90 percent – the average was HUF 231,000, full-time employees were characterized by an amount of HUF 309,000, and those with a salary above the minimum wage reported an average of HUF 360,000.
