K&H: the satisfaction of young people shows an extremely favorable change
The first quarter of 2023 brought an extremely favorable change: the value of the K&H youth index rose to +14 points from the record low level measured in the last quarter of the previous year, which is also the largest change in the last decade. For ten years now, the financial institution’s research has been completed every quarter, which examines the material, financial and labor market situation of young people between the ages of 19 and 29, their current satisfaction with life and their future expectations.
Young people have always had a prominent role in K&H’s strategy, which is why the financial institution has been examining the situation of young people on a quarterly basis for the tenth year, including how satisfied they are with their own lives and what they expect in the future, what their financial and labor market situation is like, where they are by becoming independent, buying an apartment, what is their relationship with their family members and friends. The current value of the K&H youth index is obtained from the summation of the answers, which now shows a significant improvement.
At the beginning of the research, in 2013, an average index value of 6 points was typical. In 10 years, it also turned out that this year received the most unfavorable assessment. Between 2014 and 2016, the value of the index was slightly more favorable: it fluctuated around 9-10 points. A definite improvement was observed in 2017, and the index remained at this level in 2018: an average of 14 points was measured.
