K&H: home insurance protects more than just your home
Home insurance not only provides protection against natural disasters and theft, but also against accidents if there is adequate additional insurance. Whether they occur in summer camps, festivals or other events. According to K&H data, in 2024, 46% of home insurance contracts already had such additional protection, which provides coverage wherever the accident occurs.
Accident insurance can be requested as additional coverage to home insurance, which covers residents of the insured property and provides coverage not only in the event of accidents occurring at home, but also in the event of accidents occurring at summer camps, leisure programs, festivals, such as the popular Sziget festival, K&H announced. According to the financial institution, 46 percent of home insurance contracts concluded last year included additional accident insurance, which indicates that more and more people are recognizing the importance of additional protection, although there is still plenty of room for growth.
“It is important to know that accident insurance linked to home insurance offers a cost-effective solution. If the insured suffers an injury as a result of an accident that results in a fracture, crack, or recovery that takes more than 28 days, or even requires surgery, the insurer will pay. The special feature of additional accident insurance is that it provides services not only in the insured property, but also in the event of accidents that occur anywhere in the world. With the start of the summer festival season, we encourage our customers to review the coverage of their existing insurance policies and the insurance amounts, and expand their protection if necessary,” suggests Pálma Székely, head of K&H’s sales and life insurance business.
