K&H: Those who work for an SME do not have to worry about their job
According to the K&H survey among SMEs, employment in the entrepreneurial sector is stable: nearly 80 percent of them plan to have the same number of employees for the next year, while the proportion of companies thinking about hiring and firing has also decreased. The research also reveals that 7 out of 10 companies are preparing for a wage increase, but the planned rate of 9 percent remains far below inflation. Less than half of the businesses count on a cafeteria allowance.
Despite the difficult economic situation, those who work for SMEs need not worry. According to the latest results of the K&H SME confidence index, which indicates the expectations of Hungarian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises for the next year, the majority of companies plan to keep their employees.
“Our March survey shows that employment in the SME sector is stable. The vast majority of companies – 77 percent – plan with the same number of employees for the next year. Such a high rate last occurred in 2017. Currently, 16 percent of companies are preparing to hire new employees, which is a slight drop compared to 23 percent in the previous quarter. At the same time, fewer people are preparing for downsizing, instead of 8, only 5 percent”
Zoltán Rammacher, head of K&H SME marketing and sales support, detailed the results.
