The Home Start Program was launched in September, and in the first few days, more than a thousand applications were received by K&H. Under the program, those affected can purchase their first residential property with a state-subsidized, preferential home loan of up to 50 million forints. In addition to the applications, the financial institution is already conducting valuations. K&H’s compilation shows that the repayment of a subsidized loan taken out for an average second-hand home in Győr, Szeged and Pécs would be 173-211 thousand forints.

Young people have been given an exceptional opportunity since September: under the K&H Home Start Program, a state-subsidized, preferential interest home loan of up to 50 million forints can be applied for to purchase their first home. The aim of the scheme is to ensure that getting your first home is not an unattainable dream, even with high real estate prices, and that it can be financed on predictable, favorable terms in the long term.

“Getting your first home has been a difficult task for many years, especially with the prices experienced in big cities. With the loan provided under the Otthon Start Program, we want to ensure that higher purchase prices do not represent an insurmountable obstacle, as in addition to the preferential interest rate home loan, we also offer extra discounts on supplementary market loans,”

said Gergő Molnár, Head of Retail Marketing at K&H. The advantage of Otthon Start is that the state-subsidized interest rate remains fixed throughout the entire term, while the supplementary market loan can be used with conditions tailored to individual needs.
