K&H: Is the digital glass ceiling coming?
With regard to artificial intelligence, we talk a lot about how it will affect the workplace. However, it is better not to see it as a threat, but as a part of digital literacy, the development of which is important not only for companies, but also for employees, as they can maintain their place in the labor market with this, advises the head of K&H HR. Comprehensive, up-to-date computer knowledge – which can now also include the use of AI – has a serious role in increasing the efficiency of companies, as well as in terms of employees’ chances of employment and advancement. The expansion of digital expertise is therefore a serious opportunity for development for both parties, in fact, it is increasingly essential – and even EU funds can be used for it.
In relation to artificial intelligence, there is a lot of talk about the effects it will have on the labor market. While the loss of jobs is most often highlighted, a more current challenge is that employees are properly trained in the use of digital technologies. Based on this year’s IMF study, it will be a serious advantage for advanced economies and highly skilled workers in terms of productivity and income growth. Digital literacy – which includes, for example, typing, online communication, database management, the use of image and document editors, online research, basic programming skills and, of course, the use of artificial intelligence – not only for companies, but also for employees also has serious value.
