K&H: how many forints did Hungarians spend playing cards abroad?

K&H bank card customers made nearly 3 million purchases abroad, totaling almost 58 billion forints last summer, with the average amount spent per purchase being more than 178 thousand forints, the financial institution announced. Of this amount, 28 billion forints were spent with digital devices – smartphones or smartwatches. For foreign spending, K&H is also offering its customers a refund this summer, up to the K&H mid-rate.

Both regular bank card payments and digital, smart device payments are extremely popular among K&H retail customers visiting abroad, according to the financial institution.

Last summer, between the beginning of June and the end of August, nearly 58 billion forints were spent in a foreign country, this amount came from almost 3 million card transactions. There were an average of 9 transactions per person, representing an average value of 19,800 forints, with a total value of 178 thousand forints.

“K&H actively encourages its customers to make card payments abroad. In this spirit, the bank provides a subsequent refund for all foreign card purchases and ATM cash withdrawals up to the K&H mid-rate. This offer not only strengthens trust in banking services, but also means real savings for travelers,”

Thanks to the great success, we are providing this to visitors abroad this summer as well, thus supporting carefree travel and convenient payment options.
