K&H: they evaluated the transparent climate strategy
K&H’s Belgian parent bank, the KBC Group, has once again received an “A” rating from the non-profit organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), which annually surveys companies’ climate change efforts.
CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit initiative founded in 2000 that developed a unified framework for companies, cities and regions to report comparable information about their environmental impacts. In the survey, in 2023, nearly 21,000 companies were evaluated, and only 346 of them – including KBC, K&H’s parent bank – received the highest rating, “A”.
The method by which the CDP evaluates the climate change-related activities and communication of individual companies covers all areas. This includes transparency, the assessment and management of environmental risks, and the setting of ambitious and realistic environmental protection goals. After the evaluation, the companies and settlements are classified from A to D. After 2022, the KBC Group received the best rating again for the year 2023.
