The Hungarian melon season is starting at ALDI, the company expects an increase of almost 40%
ALDI Hungary only offers Hungarian melons in its stores as soon as the domestic harvest allows. This year, from July 3, ALDI will only accept melons from Hungarian sources, from domestic growers, in its warehouse in Biatorbágy, so from the beginning of July, it will offer its customers Greek and yellow melons from Hungarian sources in all its stores. In addition, the company has installed new fruit and vegetable shelves in almost all of its stores in order to provide an even richer range of products and make shopping more convenient.
Hungary’s most dynamically developing discount store chain is a committed supporter of Hungarian agriculture and producers, as it procures the food available in its stores from domestic sources for as many products as possible. During the summer season, the company procures more than 80% of its fruit and vegetable supply from domestic sources, as well as its entire range of fresh meat and now its 66 basic dairy products.
From July 3, 2023, the supermarket chain will only accept melons from Hungarian sources in its logistics center in Biatorbágy, so within days it will be waiting for its customers with Greek and yellow melons from domestic sources in all its stores. This year, ALDI offers its customers two types of yellow and two types of watermelon. Those who like cantaloupes can choose between the traditional CANTALOUPE with orange flesh and the popular cantaloupe, GÁLIA with white flesh, the latter of which will be available from mid-July. In the case of watermelons, ALDI’s offer consists of the traditional dark green and seedless varieties.
