People drink less beer, more from beer cans, less from glass
According to GfK Hungária ConsumerScan; after the previous year's stagnation, in the first four months of 2009 the household beer consumption continued to decline.
The decline affects only glassy products, however, beer can consumption continued to increase. Beer cans share exceeded 50 percent of the volume.
The average beer purchaser is a middle-aged man, who decides in 1-2 minutes what kind of beer he want to put in his basket. The average beer purchaser household bought 82 liters of beer in 2006, 86 liters in 2007 and 81 liters last year, which may contributed by the colder average summer weather.
