Less corn has grown than expected
The amount of the harvested corn does not meet the expectations. It seems that the yield will be only a little more than four million tons, compared to the previously expected 4.5 million tons – Magyar Nemzet wrote on Thursday.
Corn was sown on 1.1 million hectares this year. Until the first of October, 57 percent of this amount was harvested – the National Association of Grain announced. According to the National Food Chain Safety Office, the average harvested yield is 3.755 tons per hectare. (Magyar Nemzet, vallalkozoinegyed.hu)
