Few fruits and vegetables were profitable
Last summer brought hailstorms and drought, the damages amounted to billions of Forints. Due to the economic crisis the sector lost markets. Only watermelon and white paprika did considerably well. Sour cherry, apricot and plum buying prices lowered. As for vegetables, several processing companies were shut down and production costs were high.
