Twofold oversubscribe on the National tobacco shop tender

About twice as many applications were submitted for the tobacco shop tender than the number of licenses can be given. The picture, however is deceptive: in big cities oversubscribe was multiple, while many smaller settlements will remain without tobacco shops.

More than fifteen thousand shops applied for the concession tender contest of the operation of the national tobacco shops – the National Tobacco Trade Office’s (NDN) communication states.

The NDN announces the winner in 30 days and no later than 22 March, but this period can be extended with one month. Then the winning applicants must apply to the tobacco trade right at the National Tax and Customs office and should indicate exactly where they are going to open the shop. (Népszabadság Online)
