Two hundred million people could be fed from the wasted food in China
Every year nearly 200 billion yuans, or 8 trillion HUF worth food is wasted in China. The professionals draw attention to the excessive purchasing in the most populous country in the world.
It is estimated that two hundred million people could be fed from the wasted food in China – Vu Ce-tan deputy director of the state grain agency told. Vu also reported that in addition, roughly 35 million tons of grain is wasted during storage and transportation. Earlier reports said that an additional 15 million tons of grain is wasted by the households. (MTI)
