Energy drink consumption increased spectacularly in Hungary
According to Nielsen market research company; retail sales of energy drink increased by 24 percent, between the 2008 September and 2009 August period, exceeding 11 billion HUF.
Because of the reduction in the average prices, volume turnover increased by almost 40 percent, which means; 210 thousand hectoliters were sold in the shops.
The sales of sport drinks are also growing rapidly. In value a 15 percent growth has occured during a one year period, which means, that their annual retail sales exceeded 350 million HUF.
